Kids in service

At our church we believe children are a blessing, not a distraction. We have two sayings we love, "The crying of children is part of the liturgy" and "If the church ain't cryin' she's dyin'!" Our preachers are good about preaching through the coos and cries of babies. Little ones are not required to go to the nursery, that is the decision of the parents. As children get older, like in any environment, we do rely on parents to help them learn how to sit and listen in church but we have patience as they learn. We have a cry room for nursing moms equipped with a changing pad and diaper pale for in service diaper emergencies where you should still be able to hear what is going on.

Nursery ages 0-4

Nursery for Kids 0-4. During our 10 AM worship service we provide a clean, safe, and fun environment for infants and toddlers who struggle to sit through worship. While little ones of all ages are always welcome in the worship service we know that some might be more comfortable in the nursery. Our nursery is housed in the Chestnut Square Academy right next to the chapel at 402 S Chestnut Street McKinney, TX. Nursery workers are background checked, trained in child protection, and love little ones! Our nursery is a nut free environment and every child goes home with a clean diaper.

Sunday School Hour

Launching September 13 for kids ages 2-12!! The Ascension Kids Sunday School hour meets at the Chestnut Square Academy right next to our worship space at 402 S Chestnut St. McKinney, TX. From 9-9:50 AM kids will learn how God's story (the Bible) fits together and applies to their life. Our class incorporates the Anglican Church in North America's catechism as well as the Book of Common Prayer 2019.

Kids Art Camp

Each summer we host a camp for ages 5-12 where kids can learn how use art to unleash creativity. Each summer has a new theme. More details and dates will be released in 2027.
